Emirates and Etihad have cancelled flights to and from Hong Kong with super typhoon Mangkhut expected to hit the city next.
The cancelled flights are EK384 travelling to Dubai, Bangkok, Hong Kong, flight EK385 travelling to Hong Kong, Bangkok and Dubai with Emirates, as well as flight EY833 travelling from Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong and Hong Kong to Abu Dhabi, and flight EY834 from Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong on Etihad.
Travel delays are expected for passengers travelling with Etihad to and from the Philippines and China from today until Tuesday. There could also be delays on Emirates flights to and from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Cebu and Clark on September 16, 17 and 18.
Customers booked on cancelled flights are being rebooked onto the next available flight. Travellers are also advised to regularly check their flight updates through visiting the airlines ‘manage your booking’ page on its website.
