More than a thousand flights have been cancelled as a freezing storm rages through the US, causing electricity cuts and affecting other forms of travel.
Delta Air Lines has released a travel advisory warning of the Northeast Storm and has urged passengers to check flight statuses frequently. The airline is offering a refund to passengers whose flights have been cancelled or are significantly delayed. A one-time change to an air ticket is also available without charge.
American Airlines has released an advisory warning that people travelling between the following airports on December 10 might be affected:
• Boston, MA (BOS)
• Hartford, CT (BDL)
• Newark, NJ (EWR)
• New York Kennedy, NY (JFK)
• New York LaGuardia, NY (LGA)
• Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
• Westchester County / White Plains, NY (HPN)
Virgin America has also warned of delays and cancellations on December 10, urging passengers to check flight statuses.
