Cannes to ban polluting cruise ships

Cannes will be introducing a cap on cruise ship pollution, with ships that do not comply being banned from next year, as reported by CNN.

The new cap will require cruise ships to have a maximum of 0.1% of sulphur in their fuel.

Ships that do not meet the criteria will not be permitted to unload passengers at the port.

Earlier this year, Venice banned large cruise ships from its centre.
