Carnival to build private destination in Bahamas

Carnival Corporation and the Bahamas government have signed a development agreement for a cruise destination, operated by Carnival, on Grand Bahama as well as the expansion of the company's private island, Half Moon Cay.

The Grand Bahama project will be Carnival’s first dedicated private destination in the Bahamas and will represent an investment of over US$100m (R1,5bn).

The Half Moon Cay addition will be on the northern part of the island and will include a pier suitable for larger ships.

Construction of both developments will start in mid-2020.
