FOLLOWING the launch of Tourism KwaZulu Natal's (TKZN) winter marketing campaign on May 22, an amount of R20 000 has been pledged to the campaign by RCI Travel Club and KwaZulu Natal Nature Conservation Service (NCS).
TKZN's contribution at the start of the campaign was R1,3m and marketing department spokesperson, Linda Ngcipe, says the latest amount will be "a major boost" to the campaign.
"We are already in full swing with the campaign, with advertisements being flighted on a number of national and regional radio stations and print media."
She adds that the campaign also includes a Web-site update and a billboard campaign with boards in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and the KZN town of Van Reenen.
Furthermore, South Africa's national television station, SABC's magazine programme, In-Style, will soon feature a half-hour documentary on the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park after TKZN hosted the presenters and crew in the area last month.
The programme reaches five million viewers and is hosted by TKZN ambassador and former Miss South Africa, Sonja Raciti.
