ADVENTURE tourism - a rapidly developing trend in Southern Africa - has caught on at Value South Africa with the launch of Value Adventure, its new corporate team building and adventure travel division.
According to Value SA director, Rafael Lueje, the Johannesburg-based company is one of South Africa's leading destination management companies, with more than 20 years of experience in organising individual and group travel.
"We decided we should diversify our services to include a comprehensive outdoor and adventure division - offering the whole deal from hot-air ballooning to shark diving."
The Value Adventure team was carefully selected from travel professionals who "have a passion for the unusual and who understand the burning need to try something new and exciting", says Lueje.
"Everyone in the team works closely with the adventure-seeking traveller, ensuring that the experience they share with us meets their wildest expectations".
Lueje says a lot of effort has gone into developing the customised team building programmes as well.
"It's a serious and very effective management tool, which uses adventure, strategy and games to weld a fragmented group into one." The adventure and team-building activities are presented in conjunction with a number of well-known names in the industry, who have been in business for long periods of time and who have credible safety records, assures Lueje.
Activities range from hot-air ballooning, bungy jumping, flying, gliding, skydiving, 4x4 trips, mountain biking, sand boarding and abseiling to horse and camel trips, caving, archery, sailing, rafting, whale watching and kloofing.
