New craft beer theme for Crystal Cruises
CRYSTAL Cruises has introduced a new craft beer theme for this
year’s Crystal Serenity voyage, with on-board tastings, expert
presentations and excursions to breweries. The new Microbrewthemed
cruise replaces wine and cocktails with lagers, stouts and
India Pale Ale that are all barrel-aged. The Crystal Serenity voyage
sails from New York to Miami, via the East Coast and Caribbean,
from November 5. Shore-side excursions include micro- and
nano-breweries in and around New York and Charleston for behindthe-scenes
access, expert insight and samplings. All-inclusive
fares for the 14-day voyage start at US$4 710pp (R50 350). An
11-day version is also available departing from Baltimore, with
fares starting at US$3 700pp (R39 553). The limited-availability
microbrew Boutique Adventures start at US$179pp (R1 914).
Oceania introduces new culinary offerings
OCEANIA Cruises has introduced new cooking classes in the
Bon Appétit Culinary Centre on Marina and Riviera, and two new
‘Culinary Discovery’ tours ashore. The Culinary Centre lets guests
expand their skills with dishes from places visited on the itinerary.
New classes include ‘Healthy Greek’ Mediterranean dishes; ‘Turkish
Arabesque’; ‘Beyond Ratatouille’ from Provence; and ‘Modern
Nordic’. Oceania will also offer guests two new Culinary Discovery
tours in Cork and Palma de Mallorca. In Cork, guests will explore
herb gardens and a free-range poultry farm and watch cooking
demonstrations of traditional Irish meals. In Palma de Mallorca,
guests will tour a marketplace, sample olive oil at a country farm
and have lunch at El Faro, an authentic Spanish restaurant.
