Luxury French cruise line changes name
COMPAGNIE du Ponant has changed its name to Ponant,
reaffirming the link between the brand and the first vessel in its
fleet and core of the brand identity, Le Ponant. According to the
French cruise line, the name is shorter, easier to remember and
has a stronger visual impact. The new name is being introduced in
conjunction with the launch of four ships and the opening of new
offices in Hamburg, Sydney, Miami, Hong Kong and Shanghai. With
the new name, the company has also placed the three sails of Le
Ponant back on the logo. The logo comes with a new ‘Yacht Cruises
& Expeditions’ signature, illustrating the company’s main mission.
