The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve recently opened a visitor centre to educate guests about the indigenous flora and fauna found in the UAE’s first national park, and how to conserve its ecosystem.

The centre is split into five sections — reception, cultural, AV, habitat and nocturnal halls.

The reception hall features photography highlights of the Arabian Oryx and interactive kiosks where visitors can explore a map of the reserve; the cultural hall showcases the reserve’s historic and cultural milestones.

The AV hall screens short films about the reserve in a mini cinema, and the habitat hall features 3D-printed models, holographic displays and interactive exhibits to show visitors the local fauna and flora.

The nocturnal hall’s dome display offers guests an immersive educational experience to learn more about Dubai’s nocturnal wildlife.

Adult walk-in visitors pay Dh35 (R181); children pay Dh25 (R129).
