Dubai crowned world’s most popular

Dubai has just been listed for the second time in a row as the most popular destination in the world by the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for destinations, based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings per region from November 2021-October 2022.

The only other destination to have come out tops on TripAdvisor’s ranking twice in a row is London.

“The top ranking by global travellers reflects the vision of the leadership to transform Dubai into the world’s top destination for tourism and business, as embodied by a key goal of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33,” says Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

“The agenda’s objective of consolidating Dubai’s status as one of world’s top three cities for tourism and business signifies the leadership’s determination to mark Dubai out as a clear leader, not only as a leisure and lifestyle destination but also as a hub for connectivity, commerce and investment.”

In second place on TripAdvisor’s 25 most popular destinations is Bali, followed by London, Rome, and Paris. The best-performing African destinations are both in Egypt: Hurghada in 14th place, and Cairo in 18th place.
