DUR fuel problem persists

31 Aug 2023

King Shaka International Airport (DUR) released a statement this morning (August 30), confirming that a fault had been identified on the optic fibre fuel system’s control and communications, resulting in a system shut down.

The airport said operations were likely to be impacted, causing flight delays, but a communication from King Shaka Airport during the day yesterday said that there had been no delays.

As a contingency measure, aircraft are currently being refuelled from the mobile tanker.

As of yesterday afternoon there were no further updates.

“The airport operations team, together with stakeholders are relentlessly trying to resolve the matter. We urge passengers to please contact their airline for further information. King Shaka International Airport would like to apologise to all passengers for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience,” the statement said.
