Emirates has confirmed that it will be required to reduce its operating schedule during Dubai Airports’ plans to close Dubai International’s (DXB) southern runway for upgrade works between April 16 and May 30, 2019.
A spokesperson told eTNW: “The affected flights to South Africa are EK761/762 on Fridays, EK765/766 on Mondays and Thursdays for Johannesburg; and flights EK775/776 on Wednesdays and Sundays for Durban. These flights have been suspended during the period April 19-May 30, 2019.”
The reduction in frequencies was reported in TNW dated August 8 without feedback from Emirates as at the time of publication, the airline was not yet able to supply this.
