Emirates suspends agent ticket sales in Moz

Emirates has suspended ticket issuance by travel agents in Mozambique with effect from October 13.

Any reissue of tickets, such as date changes, now has to be done exclusively through the company's GSA office in Mozambique.

Additionally, all necessary approvals must be requested in advance from Emirates, and agents are prevented from making changes without express authorisation from the company, meaning agents can no longer manage Emirates tickets.

The official document, seen by Mozambique outlet Idolo, does not specify the reasons for the change.

Some publications have reported that this could be due to the shortage of foreign currency (particularly US dollars) in the Mozambique market as well as difficulties in repatriating blocked funds.
