Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened its first Hyatt-branded hotel in Ethiopia, and its seventh in Africa, the Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa.

The property has 188 rooms, including 12 Regency suites, two Executive suites, one Presidential suite, and one Royal Presidential suite with four bedrooms. There is also the Regency Club room where guests have access to complimentary use of its boardroom, and exclusive access to the Regency Club lounge, which serves continental breakfasts, evening cocktails and snacks.

The hotel is on Meskel Square, near shopping centres, restaurants, bars, and the National Museum. It is also close to the United Nations Conference Centre and the African Union headquarters.

It has 1 700 sqm of flexible meeting space overlooking Meskel Square. There are also multi-functional meeting spaces with audio-visual and lighting equipment, as well as the Regency Ballroom, which adjoins the courtyard.

There are six restaurants and bars, including The Kitchen, Cascara Coffee & Cocktails, The Lobby Lounge, and The Market. There is also a Pool Bar and Lounge overlooking the inner courtyard, The Oriental, which serves a western-style barbecue and Asian cuisine, while live music is offered at The Metro Bar.

The hotel also features a 235 sqm fitness centre, an outdoor pool and a spa.
