Explora adds new winter itineraries

Explora Journeys has added two new Journey Collections for the 2027-28 northern winter season on EXPLORA I and EXPLORA V, covering destinations across South America, the Mediterranean and Atlantic.

The new itineraries replace the previously planned Middle East and Red Sea sailings.

From December 2027 to March 2028, EXPLORA I’s South America itinerary will feature 10 sailings, visiting 37 destinations including 20 maiden ports. Highlights of the itinerary include:

  • Festive celebrations, including Christmas at sea and New Year’s Eve on the Brazilian seafront.
  • Overnight stays in ports such as Buenos Aires, Puerto Madryn and Rio de Janeiro.
  • Eight late departures in coastal cities such as Balneário Camboriú, Port Stanley, to Rio de Janeiro and Maceió.
  • 20 maiden destinations, including 12 in Brazil.

From December 2027 to April 2028, EXPLORA V’s inaugural season begins in the Mediterranean and North Africa. In January, the ship sails into the Atlantic, before returning to the Mediterranean in March. Highlights include:

  • A maiden call to Crotone.
  • Late departures in Salerno, Livorno, Palma de Mallorca, Kotor and Ibiza.
  • Festive celebrations including Christmas at sea and New Year’s Eve off the coast of Naples, with views of the city’s fireworks from the ship’s decks.
  • Overnight stays in Casablanca and Lisbon.

The two new Journey Collections join the previously announced programme, complementing EXPLORA II and EXPLORA IV in the Caribbean and EXPLORA III in Asia.
