AT THE 2018 Summit,
delegates raised concerns
around the issuing of foreign
operator permits. This year,
Barsa’s June Crawford, said:
“Foreign operator permits
are an issue that remains a
bottleneck for international
airlines, and while many
discussions have been held
with the transport and civil
aviation authorities around
this, no significant strides have
been made in this issue.”
Deputy Minister for Transport,
Sindiswe Chikunga, said
her department was in the
process of drafting regulatory
instruments for foreign
operator permits.
