G ADVENTURES has bought
the Swan Hellenic brand
and associated intellectual
property, with cruising set to
commence in 2018.
The 60-year-old UK
cruise line will diversify
G Adventures’ portfolio of
brands by adding boutique
small-trip cruising to its
existing adventure travel,
adventure cruising and new
touring businesses.
Boutique cruises are more
intimate cruises, visiting
smaller ports, and they
include more in-depth and
sometimes even exclusive
experiences.
These cruises would be
suited to travellers who had
visited the popular tourist
attractions that bigger
cruise lines offer, and want
to gain more insight into
the history and culture of a
specific topic or destination,
says Jane Davidson, director
of Development Promotions,
GSA of G Adventures in
South Africa.
Jane could not confirm
when the product would
be made available in the
SA market, but did say
that Swan Hellenic’s new
itineraries will be announced
later this year during the UK
summer months.
