Gatwick International Airport is trialling new ways for passengers to board their flights to avoid queues and congestion at gates.
A two-month trial has already started at the airport’s Gate 101.
The airport introduced two new options to test whether they make the process faster.
One is a large digital screen that displays the passenger’s seat number and from there staff will direct hem to their seats.
The second option involves seating passengers from the back of the aircraft first with window seats first, followed by middle seats then aisle seats. Passengers with priority boarding will still board first during the trial.
The airport aims to reduce boarding times by 10% by the end of the trial.
