Great deals and incentives on Queen Mary 2

22 Nov 2022
Comments | 0

Cunard’s stately Queen Mary 2, in her distinctive black and white livery, will sail into Cape Town in April 2023 as part of its centenary world voyage. Agents who make a booking on a Cunard Cape Town cruise will win a R500 shopping voucher for each booking made.

This incentive is valid on all new 2023 Cunard Cape Town cruise bookings made by December 24 this year.

White Star Cruise & Travel, which represents Cunard in South Africa, also reports that the rate for the Queen Mary 2’s Cape Town to Southampton cruise has just been reduced, starting from R35 780 – that works out at R2 240 per night.

The fare includes a great deal – compare it with a trip in Europe where the traveller would easily spend half that amount in buying three meals a day. The offer from Cunard provides lavish breakfasts, lunches and dinners every day, plus traditional afternoon tea. Room service is available on demand.

Daily activities including wine tasting, dance classes, quizzes, craft classes, and informative talks from the onboard teams.

All cruise guests have the use of the ship’s swimming pools and whirlpool spas, plus a fully equipped gym and use of the sports courts (including basketball, quoits, deck tennis, football and shuffle board). Fitness classes are available.

The promenade deck allows for a brisk walk or jog and wonderful views of the ocean from this uncrowded ship.

The Cunard Insights programme provides fascinating talks by guest speakers, from astronauts to writers. The Royal Court Theatre offers light-hearted comedies, dramas, classics and spectacular musicals, and there are daily film screenings on board. Musicians perform at various venues around the ship – resident bands, jazz ensembles, singers and soloists. There’s a casino with slots and tables and complimentary gaming lessons. There is also dancing in the nightclub or Queen’s Room ballroom.

Some of the available cruises on the Queen Mary 2 itinerary next year are:

Sydney to Cape Town: March 12-April 7, M307A, 26 nights from R73 480pps.

Perth to Cape Town: March 21-April 7, M308, 17 nights from R41 050pps

Cape Town to Southampton: April 7-23, M309, 16 nights from R35 780pps * (new reduced rate).

Cape Town to New York: April 7-30, M309A, 23 nights from R55 990pps
