Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is introducing two new cruises on its small luxury ship EUROPA 2, that pass the South African coastline, as part of its rerouting from the Red Sea.
“Due to the geopolitical situation in the region, these replace the routes through the Red Sea that were initially published. Guests who had already booked were informed in advance and have received attractive alternative offers,” Hapag-Lloyd said in a press release.
The following cruises to and from South Africa can now be booked individually or combined with other legs of the EUROPA 2’s journey:
- The 13-day Adventure in South Africa from June 20 to July 3, 2027: The leg departs from Mauritius and travels via Réunion and Mozambique to South Africa. The trip includes stops in Richards Bay, Durban and Gqeberha, before arriving in Cape Town.
- The 18-day Endless Dunes to Atlantic Dreams from July 3 to July 21, 2027: The journey departs from Cape Town and sails via Lüderitz and Walvis Bay in Namibia, and Jamestown, Saint Helena, to arrive in Cape Verde’s Sal and São Vicente and Santa Cruz in Tenerife.
The EUROPA 2 will sail from Southeast Asia to the islands of the Indian Ocean, along the southern and western coasts of Africa to the western Mediterranean, from June 2 to August 3, 2027.
Travellers can combine the South African itineraries with the 18-day Focus on the Far East itinerary from Hong Kong to Mauritius or the 13-day Between Island Splendor and Coastal Charm itinerary from Tenerife to Civitavecchia, Rome, to extend their cruising journeys.
