ON December 19 the new high speed line will open between Perpignan and Figueres in Cataluña, Spain, offering travellers a new way to travel from the UK to Spain.
In total, 44km of high-speed track have been built between Perpignan and Figueres, and the Perthus Tunnel has been constructed to allow high-speed trains to operate between France and Spain.
Trains will run to Figueres Vilafant station, until a brand new station opens in 2012. Buses will run every 15 minutes between the station and the town centre. Passengers travelling onwards to Girona or Barcelona can connect with an onward train from Vilafant station. Tickets are now on sale for travel from December 19.
