SHORTLY after being featured on Cable News Network's (CNN) 'Hotspots', the five-star Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl was transformed into a 'Little Hollywood' last month when it became the star location for a week's filming of a German television film.
The German ZDF Satellite TV Channel will air the film - entitled Entscheidung im Busch (loosely translated as Bush Decision) - towards the end of the year, with plans to release it globally later in an English language version.
The scenes of the film - the storyline of which is a complicated love story in which three men fall for the same woman - feature shots of Grande Roche's rose garden, the front of the historic manor house, the driveway leading up to the house, the pool patio, the Kraal pool, the terrace of the honeymoon suite, the Carriage room, the wine cellars, the courtyard and the former slave quarters. Other locations included Cape Town, Stellenbosch, the Cedarberg and the Drakensberg.
