Hotelbeds launches ‘Safe Stay’

Hotelbeds (incorporating Bedsonline) has announced plans to launch a distribution filter category called ‘Safe Stay’ in coming weeks.

During the booking process, Safe Stay consolidates and displays the different COVID-19 health and safety protocols and certifications that companies, tourism boards and lobby groups have created, into one filterable category.

The Safe Stay category covers accommodation and providers of services such as transfers, activities, theme parks and car rental.

This feature will be visible as a filter on the Hotelbeds and Bedsonline booking engines, with the same information available to all Hotelbeds’ API clients to configure into their own systems.

Tobias Thibaut, Hotelbeds’ risk, compliance, internal audit & sustainability director, says the Safe Stay filter category will boost the confidence of travel professionals when they reserve a hotel room and ancillary products during the pandemic.

Partners who have created their own COVID-19 health and safety protocols are eligible to include their information in the filter category. Hotel partners can do so directly via MaxiRoom, Hotelbeds’ partner extranet.
