Japan will face another dangerous typhoon this week, according to AccuWeather.
Yesterday, Typhoon Kong-Rey was the equivalent of a category four major
hurricane and was expected to strengthen further by today.
Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon’ weekend operations into and out of Okinawa (OKA) will be affected by Typhoon Kong-Rey.
Scheduled for October 4, flight KA378 from Hong Kong to Okinawa and return flight KA379 have been cancelled.
Rebooking and rerouting charges will be waived for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on/before October 3 for travel with Cathay Pacific/Cathay Dragon for confirmed bookings arriving at and departing from Okinawa between October 4 and October 6.
Agents are advised to check the status of passengers’ flights and update them before they leave for the airport.
Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, Emirates and Etihad flights are unaffected at this stage.
