Kenya Airways has announced the resumption of flights to Kinshasa, following the release of the airline’s detained staff members.
Flights between Kenya and Kinshasa resumed on May 8. The airline suspended flights after two Kenya Airways staff were detained in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The two staff members were held from April 19, allegedly due to absent customs documentation on valuable cargo, according to Reuters. The employees were released unconditionally on May 6.
“We want to reiterate that our employees are innocent and were only carrying out their duties in strict adherence to the laid-out procedures. We stand by their innocence and will continue to support them,” said Kenya Airways.
