Letter to the Editor: Visa woes

“A client of mine was meant go to a conference in Manchester from June 21-23.

I booked and issued my client’s ticket in January already. My client applied for a visa in early May only to get an email a few days later to say they are investigating something and that they need 15 working days.

The email further stated that should my client not receive feedback on the matter, an email should be sent to an email address provided – this was done with no reply.

My client was due to travel on June 20, but following the visa incident we were forced to cancel. On the same day the passport was received back – visa included - after being told there was no way that my client would get it. Is this right and is this fair? They would not even my client what the hold-up was or if there was any further information that could have been given to make the process quicker. The consular officials as well as VFS could have cared less to help to get answers. It's all a load of rubbish although I guess understandable too. An honest individual must be put through such stress and aggravation - who wants to go to the UK that badly.”
