Passengers in Lufthansa economy class will soon be able to select a seat when they book a flight - some for a fee.
From November 26, pax will be able to reserve their preferred seat when booking flights on German and European routes. In the mid-price and flexible booking classes in economy, advance seat reservations will be free – the free service was previously only available for bookings in the most flexible booking classes.
Passengers who book flights in the lowest price booking class will have to pay €10 (R135) to reserve their preferred seat. Seat reservations were previously not possible in this fare class. Pax without an advance seat reservation can still choose a seat free of charge at check-in from 23 hours prior to departure.
From November 26, pax can also pay a surcharge to book seats with more leg-room – €20 (R269) per route on European flights and €60 (R808) on intercontinental flights.
