Loyalty: What’s in it for agents?

Workaround

One local travel adviser told Travel News that agents were not daunted by the direct bookings their corporate clients had made with the large hotel chains because of the special and exclusive offers pushed towards the loyalty programme members. “There are workarounds. Our clients don’t want to be bothered constantly having to log in to change dates or destinations. So we do it for them and we charge them a service fee for doing so. “It’s ironic that sometimes we could have got the client a much better price for the room through a different channel.” 
