Lufthansa is extending its Economy Light fare routes to Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America.
The Economy Light fare is available for intercontinental routes operated by Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS from October 30.
It is intended for hand-luggage-only passengers looking for a price-conscious option. If required, passengers can individually book a piece of luggage for a fee. Meals and beverages on board remain free of charge.
An extra charge is also available for advance seat selection and extra leg-room. An Economy Light ticket cannot be rebooked and is non-refundable.
The fare can be booked exclusively via austrian.com, lh.com and swiss.com as well as with selected sales partners.
