Mango cuts CPT-PLZ

MANGO has cut flights
between Cape Town and
Port Elizabeth, effective
October 15. Its aircraft have been
redeployed to bulk up flights
between Johannesburg and Port
Elizabeth. Existing bookings will be
re-accommodated on SA Express.
“At this time the route between
Cape Town and Port Elizabeth
is overtraded and, instead of
incurring possible losses, it is more
commercially prudent to redeploy
our assets at this time,” says
spokesperson, Hein Kaiser.
Mango launched JohannesburgPort
Elizabeth in 2012 with a single
frequency, growing up to four dailies
in either direction by mid-October
2015. “Demand and positive
commercials underpin our ongoing
investment in this route,” says Hein.
A future codeshare with SA
Express is on the cards. “We
expect this service to commence
next year.”
