Maputo hotel adds new facilities

THE Southern Sun
Maputo has added new
conference facilities
to its offering and can now
accommodate both large and
small conferences and events
in a range of venues.
The largest conference
venue, the Mphama, sees
216sqm of space that allows
for 150 people to be seated
in cinema-style. Mphama 1
and 2 can be used for smaller
conferences and can be
subdivided for up to 70 and
80 people each. The Acacia
and Mikaya rooms can seat 18
people each and can be used
for small meetings.
Following the completion
of its US$30m (R360m)
refurbishment, the hotel now
also offers 269 guest rooms,
an expanded restaurant and
lobby and a fully equipped
business centre.
Proximity to the beach also
allows organisers to include
beach activities in their
programmes for team building,
themed lunches, and tea
breaks. Excursions can also
be arranged from the hotel,
such as day trips to Xefina
Island, Portuguese Island, and
Inhaca Island.
