Expedia and Marriott have signed a new multi-year agreement after months-long negotiations that began in November.
As part of the deal, it was announced that Marriott would have more control over its distribution with Expedia, as well as direct access to Expedia’s global travel marketplace through ExpediaConnect, the technology solution for chain hotels to connect directly into Expedia’s global marketplace.
Expedia will continue to be used as a solution for last-minute bookings with Marriott.
In a joint statement, both companies announced that they would develop solutions to challenges in “leisure segments”, which are set to be unveiled in the fourth quarter.
