Marriott plans 19 hotels for Africa, Middle East

Marriott plans to add 19 hotels with more than 3 000 rooms to its Africa and Middle East portfolio this year.

Properties opening this year, as well as the recent opening of the W Dubai – The Palm, include seven luxury hotels in Jordan, Egypt, Oman, Dubai and North Island in the Seychelles, four premium brand hotels in Kenya, Algeria and Saudi Arabia, and seven new select-service hotels in Tanzania, Pakistan, Algeria and Uganda.

The expansion plans will bring Marriott’s portfolio across the region to nearly 270 properties and over 60 000 rooms by the end of the year.
