Madagascar Airlines and Air Austral have signed a codeshare agreement and a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA), which will come into effect from June 27.
Madagascar Airlines customers can now book flights operated by Air Austral between Réunion and several Malagasy destinations, including Antananarivo, Antsiranana, Nosy Be and Toamasina, and vice versa. This can simplify access via Réunion to the long-haul routes offered by Air Austral, such as Bangkok and Johannesburg.
Thanks to the SPA, Air Austral customers have access to Madagascar Airlines' entire domestic network, offering customers more coverage of the Malagasy territory.
Air Austral's Réunion-Tamatave flight will offer a Tamatave to Sainte Marie connection operated by Madagascar Airlines.
The agreement also introduces an exclusive regional inter-island link between Réunion, Toamasina and Sainte-Marie to boost tourism between the islands, offering a new destination to passengers from Réunion.
