Due to COVID-19 travel disruptions, Air Mauritius has implemented new policies for all MK239 tickets issued in South Africa prior to April 30 for departures until June 30, 2020.
Automatic refunds through BSP had been temporarily closed, the airline said in a statement.
Rebooking in the same booking class will be free, even if the fare rule concerned specifies ‘no change’ or ‘change with penalty’. “There will be charges for any additional amount resulting from higher fare types, higher booking classes, higher seasonality, rerouting, change of feeder, or a connecting airline,” the airline said.
Passengers who wish to postpone travel will be issued with an EMD valid for one year and all penalties for cancellation will be waived. “If the new travel dates result in a higher amount than the EMD value, the additional amount will be charged at the time of issue. All EMDs are to be issued by June 30.”
Passengers who wish to be refunded would be charged at the relevant amount as per the cancellation rules of the fare shown on the ticket, the airline said. Refunds will be done on a case-by-case basis.
