Monday Smile: Helsinki creates tours for dogs

Helsinki, known as the ‘happiest capital in the world’, has curated a sightseeing tour exclusively for dogs.

The ‘Doggy Route to Happiness’ itinerary includes a visit to the Stickelius Monument a stick-built dog statue, inspired by the world-famous Sibelius Monument and created to honour Neris, Helsinki’s most famous rescue dog.

The highlight of the itinerary is Rajasaari Island, a dog-only island with beaches, forest trails, and swimming spots. The island is open year-round and free to visit.

The tour also features Café Dogatta, a dog-friendly café near the popular seaside Café Regatta, serving treats for both humans and canines.
