MSC Cruises has announced the construction of the third and fourth liquefied natural gas-powered ships due to join their fleet after delivery in 2025 and 2027.
The first of the initial ships is still under construction at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire and is set to enter service in 2022.
The cruise liner signed the construction contracts with shipyard commercial company, Chantiers de l’Atlantique, on January 20. The contracts represent a capital investment of by MSC Cruises exceeding €2 billion (R31 billion).
