The Dutch government has scaled back a planned hike in aviation tax on long-haul flights. The rate for 2027 was originally to be €74,81 (R1 397) per passenger but this has been reduced to €59,43 (R1 110) per passenger.
From 2027, the rates per passenger will be:
- Short-haul flights (up to 2 000km): €31,04 (R580)
- Medium-haul flights (2 000km-5 500km): €49,87 (R930)
- Long-haul flights (more than 5 500km): €59,43 (R1 110)
The changes will take effect on January 1, 2027.
