Italian high-speed rail operator Italo is planning services to Germany in June 2028, following a €3,6 billion (R67 billion) investment in new high-speed trains.
The first four trains are scheduled to begin operating in Germany on June 1, 2028.
The company then plans to expand into Belgium and the Netherlands by 2030/31, with France and destinations in Eastern Europe also under consideration.
Eurostar plans two-storey cocktail bar
Eurostar will introduce a two-storey cocktail bar to its new double-decker Eurostar Celestia trains debuting in 2031.
The bar will serve cocktails and other drinks in a set-up inspired by the existing Eurostar Premier lounge at London St Pancras and will be open to all passengers
The first trains are scheduled for May 2031, with six trains expected to operate across current destinations as well as new routes to Geneva and Frankfurt.
