New payment system for airport taxis

NEDBANK, in partnership
with iMobilise Transportation
Systems, has launched card
payment units in metered
airport taxis.
The device makes use
of Nedbank’s Pocket Pos
technology to enable
passengers to pay for their
fares with credit or debit
cards. It has so far been
installed in 200 metered
taxis and is available
in Eagle Taxi Cabs in
Durban and at King Shaka
International Airport. It will
also be available in Sport
Taxis and City Cabs in the
Cape Town CBD and at
Cape Town International as
well as ORIATA cabs from
OR Tambo International.
