OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, has partnered with the City of Dublin to demonstrate how generative AI can be used in the European travel industry.

The Dublin Itinerary Planner Proof of Concept, a unique collaboration between OpenAI, ChatGPT’s creator, and Dublin-based data consultancy Data and Design, will showcase the innovative use of GPT-4 in creating tailored itineraries for tourists, going beyond conceptualising a generic to-do list.

OpenAI and Dublin are working together to develop use cases for generative AI in the European travel industry and are inviting tourism leaders across Europe to participate actively in a workshop. The interactive sessions will explore the potential of generative AI in promotion, tourism engagement, and itinerary planning.

“Our advanced AI technologies, including GPT-4, have the potential to revolutionise how people explore and experience destinations. We look forward to working together to create innovative solutions that will benefit visitors and cities alike,” said Anna Makanju, OpenAI Vice President of Global Affairs.
