Radisson Blu to enter Libya

CARLSON Rezidor will open the Radisson Blu Hotel, Misrata in

Libya early next year. An existing hotel will be converted and

re-introduced as the 126-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Misrata, situated

six kilometres from Misrata’s international airport in the downtown

area. The hotel, which is undergoing a full renovation, will feature

an all-day-dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, an outside pool

restaurant, a lobby lounge bar, four meeting rooms and a ballroom,

a cinema, night club, a gym and spa and a business lounge.

Drakensberg hotel joins African Insignia

AFRICAN Insignia Hotels has added The Nest to its portfolio,

expanding its footprint into the central Drakensberg area. Situated

in the Champagne Valley, the Nest Drakensberg Resort Hotel

features 55 rooms, all of which are fully serviced, have under-floor

heating and en-suite bathrooms. The hotel also has conference

facilities for up to 100 delegates. Wedding facilities are available.

BON Hotels launches new app

BON Hotels has launched phase one of its mobile device webbased

application BONNY. The application uses the protel Voyager

platform, which is compatible with any device. Phase one of BONNY,

which sees a roll-out of in-house guest services, allows guests to

order room service from their phones, check invoices and make use

of the ‘getting around’ link to get the lie of the land. They can also

rate or extend their stay, or book a return stay by using the app.

The next phase will see the application more focused on pre-checkin

services, allowing guests to book activities and tours, car hire

and airport transfers before check-in, which will be done ahead of

arrival. BON Hotels’ loyalty programme will also be launched via the

application later this year.
