Starwood snaps up Design Hotels

STARWOOD Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has expanded its

partnership with Berlin-based Design Hotels. Selected member

hotels of Design Hotels are now bookable through Starwood’s

websites, mobile apps and global customer contact centres.

Guests who book directly through Starwood channels will now

receive selected benefits and earn Star points during their stays

at participating member hotels of Design Hotels. The first partner

hotels include the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York, Ten Bompas in

Johannesburg, the C-Hotel in Lake Como, Nira Montana in La Thuile,

Nira Alpina in St Moritz, and Kruisherenhotel Maastricht. The ION

Luxury Adventure Hotel in Iceland, the Tribe Hotel in Kenya as well

as Grupo Habita’s hotels in Mexico will join before year end

African Pride Melrose Arch ups WiFi offering

THE African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel has embarked on a major

project to offer high-speed uncapped WiFi to guests and conference

delegates. This follows from the previous service where guests were

able to use 500 MB of free WiFi per day. Guests will also be able

to enjoy WiFi connectivity elsewhere at the Melrose Arch Precinct,

dining, or shopping. The Precinct recently introduced new fibre-optic

cabling, which gives visitors up to two hours of free WiFi every 24

hours. For businesses, there is 10MB uncapped WiFi per day.
