Proflight relaunches DUR-LUN route

17 Feb 2023

Regional airline Proflight Zambia will relaunch its direct Lusaka-Durban route with twice-weekly flights starting in April 2023. The route was cancelled in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From April 6, Thursday flights to and from Durban will commence. Sundays will be added to the schedule from April 16.

Flights depart Lusaka from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 09h00, arriving at King Shaka International Airport at 11h30. The return flight leaves Durban at 12h30, arriving in Lusaka at 15h00.

Durban becomes the second South African destination serviced directly by Proflight after Johannesburg, which the airline services with twice-daily return flights.

“The resumption of the route was a clear indication of the airline’s commitment to growth and regional expansion. The airline believes that this expansion will provide its customers with access to two key commercial centres in South Africa,” said Proflight Zambia Director: Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita.

The route will be served by Proflight’s Bombardier CRJ-100 and CRJ-200 aircraft.
