Royal Caribbean introduces dining no-show fee

Royal Caribbean has introduced a new fleet-wide policy for passengers who skip reservations made for speciality restaurants.

The cruise line said it was implementing the change to improve access to limited-capacity restaurants and encourage those who make a reservation to stick to their booking. “Our goal is to preserve these limited seats for clients eager to experience our exclusive, limited-capacity dining options,” said a press statement.

Royal Caribbean said the fee would only apply when passengers did not cancel their reservation well in advance. The exact charge has not been stipulated.

Royal Caribbean is represented by Cruises International in the South African market.
