Royal Caribbean has announced some details about the new Discovery class of ship, following the launch of the cruise line’s sixth Oasis-class ship, Utopia of the Seas.
Speaking at a media briefing on Utopia of the Seas, CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Michael Bayley, said the new class would consist of smaller vessels that could call at ports where larger ships were not able to.
“We constantly look at the ability to get ships in these places. So, maybe Discovery class will have the great solution for that,” he said to Travel Weekly.
The cruise line debuted the Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise vessel, earlier this year.
