British Airways has issued a statement saying that on the day of the Royal Funeral, Monday, September 19, there will be changes to its flying schedule.
It also mentions that there will be significant disruption to the transport network in London, giving details here.
Heathrow Airport, National Air Traffic Control and airlines are supporting the ceremonial aspects of Her Majesty’s State Funeral at Westminster Abbey and the Committal Service at Windsor Castle and, as a mark of respect, operations to and from the airport will be subject to restrictions in order to keep the skies quiet at certain locations during specific moments on Monday.
Adjustments are being made to schedules and this will mean a small number of flight cancellations and the re-timing of some of BA’s operating services.
The airline says: “If a customer’s flight is affected by these schedule changes, we will be offering them the option to rebook on to alternative flights or request a refund as per our Standard Customer Guidelines.”
