RwandAir eyes new long-haul routes

RwandAir is planning new international flights to Frankfurt, Guangzhou and Mumbai next year as part of the next phase of its growth plans.

In September, RwandAir announced plans to expand its fleet from 14 to at least 21 aircraft by 2029. A fourth Airbus A330-200 is expected in December, followed by a fifth next year.

In an interview with Aerospace Global News, Fouad Caunhye, RwandAir CCO, said the additional aircraft would allow the airline to expand to several international destinations, including Mumbai and Guangzhou as well as Frankfurt for the first time.

He said a timeframe had not yet been outlined, but the expansion was being considered for next year.

The airline’s current long-haul network consists of Brussels, Paris and London.
