SABRE Red Workspace
updated technology has
been rolled out in the South
African market as part of a
global upgrade initiative. The
new technology has taken
two years to develop and
offers an intuitive point-ofsale
tool for travel agencies
that reduces the training that
agents require in order to
become proficient.
The solution allows agents
to instantly access the latest
web content and will include
the ability to seamlessly
present airline NDC-based
fares and ancillary services.
Airline products can be
presented with rich visuals,
brands and descriptive
content, allowing suppliers
to differentiate their offers.
Additionally, airline loyalty
members are automatically
rewarded through the Sabre
Profile function.
Global roll-out began in late
2017, with the first South
African agents receiving
the technology within the
last month. Richard Addey,
country director for Sabre,
said agents now had much
more information at their
fingertips. “A single screen
is able to display preferred
airline fares and when the
cheapest time to book
specific routes would be.”
Data-driven insights
allow agents to leverage
instrumentation, information
widgets and insights from
Sabre’s industry-leading
APIs within the workflow.
Agents can further increase
their revenue by leveraging
cross-sell and up-sell
capabilities along with fare
management functions such
as mark-ups, commissions
and overrides.
Sabre says the new
technology reduces training
time and enables new staff
members to reach levels of
productivity that previously
took years to achieve.
Agents can continue to use
the familiar GDS command
view or seamlessly switch to
an intuitive graphical style
that requires little training.
Advance filtering allows
consultants to narrow down
results, while integrated
maps and points of interest
pinpoint the most suitable
hotel locations without
leaving the workspace.
