Sales skills shortage secret shopper

AS MANY as four out of
ve South African travel
consultants could be making
much more money for their
agencies and themselves.
This is apparent as TNW’s
Naked Agent mystery shopper
struggles to nd travel agents
who are on top of their sales
game.
TNW has engaged a
sales specialist to mystery
shop nationwide. While
some agencies may be
embarrassed by the results,
the problem needs to be
addressed if travel agents are
to secure their future, says
TNW editor, Natasha Tippel.
The Naked Agent is part of
a new series that TNW will
run as a monthly feature,
focusing on popular themes
and how to sell more of these
products.
Turn to page 14 of this issue
for the rst selling-orientated
Naked Agent and see how
the agents performed for a
cruise enquiry. TNW is also
publishing a quick guide to
the selling features of all the
cruise products advertised in
this issue.
Coming later this month,
the ‘Sell more Thailand’
feature will incorporate these
features as well as share
over 200 agents’ selling
tips, surveyed on ‘What’s
Hot in Thailand’.

 Travelinfo Plus is later this
month launching a free
10-module workshop on
travel sales skills, exclusive
to its users.
